square feet, equipped with computerized layout system and the

Wheeling
Civic Center
 Working in close coordination with manufacturers and the ice rink
system designer, H.E. Neumann Company's installation of more than 25,000 linear
feet of stainless steel refrigeration tubing, in less than 6 days, was key in
maintaining the construction schedule of a new ice rink, at the existing
Wheeling Civic Center.
Our
installation scope also included drainage piping and heat recovery equipment
for the snow melting pit where the ice finishing "zamboni" truck is parked.
Complete system installation including start-up was accomplished on time, to
meet the inaugural game of the new professional hockey season, scheduled months
before. |

Wheeling Downs,
Race Track
Scheduling, again, was no problem for H.E. Neumann Co. on this
short turnaround project. This dog racing track, located in Wheeling, West
Virginia, needed a complete replacement of the heating system under the racing
surface.
H.E.
Neumann Co., as a prime contractor, completed this task in six days, starting
after racing on Saturday and working around the clock. They accomplished this
in time to give the race track a racing card on the following Saturday, two
days ahead of schedule.
The
special clay soils on this track needed to be sparated into two classes and
stored for reinstallation. The existing heating system supply header needed to
be removed along with a portion of the existing heating system. The track was
then regraded before the new 52,000 linear feet heating system shown in the
pictures was installed. After the piping installation and testing, the clay
soils were reinstalled and graded to a tolerance within 1/4 of an inch,
including banked turns. |
